Welcome to Asian Studies

The Discipline Group of Asian Studies is in the School of Social and Cultural Studies, within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at The University of Western Australia.

The group has a strong undergraduate and postgraduate teaching program, with undergraduate programs suitable for complete beginners through to native speakers. We are also actively involved in research.

We specialise in:

• the cultures, societies, and politics of contemporary Asia
• the languages Chinese, Indonesian, and Japanese
